Those of us that have an actual good sense of humor reacted with a sigh of relief when the abortion of a show of Michelle Wolf’s was cancelled by Netflix in it’s first Trimester. There are so many things that were wrong with that dog’s breakfast, but it’s biggest sin was just not being funny in any possible way. That is the single most important thing about comedy, it really does need to be funny. Outrage might get you a gig, but if you aren’t funny people won’t watch and the show will be gone as quickly as it came.
You would think, or I guess hope and pray that Netflix is learning this lesson. It started with Amy Schumer’s amazingly crass and totally unfunny “Leather Special”. It crashed and burned so hard that Netflix actually changing their one vote per person system to just thumbs up or thumbs down. The previous start system had Amy with a 1 star rating. Not good after all the money they paid for her special. Of course as Amy tells it, it was alt right trolls that took time out of their days to mass down vote her… ummmm well at that’s ONE thing funny she said.
Don’t forget the world’s more moronic cry baby of a “comic” Chelsea Handler, her amazingly unfunny show was givent he boot as well. Of course the “official” reason was not low ratings, but rather to give Chelsea more time to devot to her “political activism” whatever the hell that means.
I wonder has Netflix finally realized that putting people on their network that aren’t funny then billing them as comedies is not really a great business model. I mean they can continue to virtue signal and lose money or stick with the real comics out there.
Important to note I am not saying there are no funny women, although there is no where near as many funny women as men, sorry just a fact. But stop putting people on Netflix attempting to be “edgy” and “hip” you just look stupid and old and out of touch. Not to mention tasteless.
